I’d like to congratulate our new Executive. Please join me in welcoming Holly Chaperon (President), Cindy Terwin (1st Vice), Natina Pelletier (2nd Vice), Karly Deneka (HC Vice), Pat McFarlane (Treasurer), Natasha Ross (Secretary) and John Reynolds (Warden) as our new team of leaders for this great local. I’d also like to congratulate all our newly elected Area Vice Presidents, Chief Stewards, Shop Stewards and Trustees. Your commitment and work for the members is greatly appreciated.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the members, current and past Table Officers, Site/Area Reps, National Staff Reps and my family for the many years that I was afforded the opportunity to work for this great CUPE Local. It has been a privilege and a honour to work for this membership. There have been many friendships made, some hard times and some great memories. I would be remise to not mention a few. Rik, George, Pat, Candace, Pat U., John, Natasha, Holly, Tracey, Judy, and Mary are just a few of the people I am blessed to have worked with and not only call friends but are part of my family. Thank you all.
Change is always hard, please work with our new leadership team. They are all ready and wanting to help our members. They are working hard on a new contract and understand your issues. Together we are strong and this local will continue to be a leader in the Province. I know this because I personally know this new team and am leaving with a good feeling that the local I have been a part of since day one is in very good hands. I look forward to visiting and hearing how this Local grows even better over the next few years.
Once again, thank you for everything. I may be retired, but I will always bleed Local 4270.
